Judge Jaimie Powell Horowitz

Jaimie Powell Horowitz was elected to the 45th District Court for a term beginning January 2021. She previously served as an Assistant Wayne County Prosecutor serving in the Homicide Unit, Elder Abuse Unit, and on Special Assignment in the Felony Trial Division. Powell Horowitz also served as the Special Prosecutor for the Fair Michigan Justice Project handling homicides and hate crimes perpetrated against the LGBTQ community in Wayne County, and provided training throughout the state for law enforcement in prosecuting hate crimes. She previously served on the Ethics Board for the City of Huntington Woods, the Executive Board of the Oak Park - Huntington Woods Democratic Club, the Wayne County Elder Abuse Advisory Council, the State Bar of Michigan Character and Fitness Committee District H, and served on the State Bar Representative Assembly. Powell Horowitz has been featured by Lawyer's Weekly as an Up and Coming Lawyer and honored as a Wings of Justice recipient by the Oakland County Democratic Party.
